Enea Manzi

Hi! I’m Enea Manzi, a Cyber Security graduate working on security assurance for distributed and service-oriented systems at SESAR Lab (Secure Service-oriented Architectures Research Lab), University of Milan.

My research addresses the oracle problem in automated security testing: how to establish trust in an automated verdict when checking a system for security violations. My Master’s thesis, APIGuard Assurance, proposes a contract-driven, API-agnostic methodology that derives all target knowledge from the OpenAPI Specification, organizing security checks into a taxonomy of eight domains traceable to OWASP and CWE. This work is the basis of a paper submitted to ITADATA 2026. Earlier, during my Bachelor’s thesis, I contributed to an Assurance Engine for verifying non-functional properties (CIA triad, reliability, scalability) in Edge-Cloud Continuum systems, deployed on Kubernetes.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Cyber Security and a Bachelor’s Degree in System and Network Security, both from the University of Milan, both 110/110 cum laude. I am currently applying for a PhD position at SESAR Lab to continue this line of research.

I work primarily with Python, Rust, Kubernetes, and Kafka, and I speak Italian (native) and English (B2).
